4 Things that will run your laptop’s battery down faster

laptop and battery 4 Things that will run your laptop’s battery down fasterUsing a laptop computer is a very amazing experience. If you compare the differences in a laptop computer and a desktop computer, you’ll want to reach the conclusion that a laptop computer is the perfect choice for every computer user. While this might be true, you also need to come to the fact that there is more maintenance needed for a laptop computer than the desktop computer.

With this in mind, you might wonder which aspect of your laptop computer needs more care. In my own opinion, I think it’s the battery! What makes the most difference in your laptop computer and a desktop? Obviously it’s the battery which gives it backup power.

In this blog post, I’m going to share with you some things which will run down your laptop computer’s battery life faster than it should.

Playing Music on the Laptop while working

Playing music while using your laptop computer is great. Apart from it being fun, you will also find it a medium of inspiration as it makes your mind relax. But it has its price! And this might be paid with your laptop’s power life, unless if you are running on electricity.

Other than running your laptop computer on electricity, you can use your iPod, mobile phone or any other device to play your music while you are working on your laptop computer. This way, you get uninterrupted inspiration from your favorite music and still have your laptop running for longer period.

Running too many programs even when they are not needed

Running too many applications on your computer is one other thing that can quickly make it run down. This is because the more programs your laptop computer is running, the more processing it has to do which leads to it consuming more power.

Cut down the rate of your laptop computer’s power consumption by reducing the task it takes. Make sure you always close applications each time you are done with them. Also make sure you are not running any application when it’s not needed.

Not shutting down even after use

Not shutting your laptop computer down after use drains its battery life faster than anything. Many people are used to leaving their laptop computers on even after they are done using it. This is risky. One way you can avoid making sure your laptop computer does not drain its battery life after you are done using it is by shutting it down totally.

Shutting down your laptop computer after using it is not a tough task. Whenever you suspect you are going to fall asleep while working which is going to leave your laptop computer running till its battery is finally off, you can change the power settings to make it go on hibernate after some minutes of it being dormant.

Using a bright monitor display

If you are the type that loves bright screens and concentrated lights like me, you will notice that your laptop computer is always running down faster than it should. If you haven’t figured it out, this is because your monitor display is too bright. And using a bright monitor display can make your battery run down faster than it should.

What you should do is to reduce the luminosity of your laptop’s screen by going to power options >> adjust screen options and then drag the bar till it’s less bright.
